French Toast!

I made french toast for the first time the other night guys.... It was really good. I'm gonna tell you how I did it! This makes enough for two people.

What You Need:

  • 4 pieces of bread ( I like wheat)
  • 3 tbs of all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup of milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbs of sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup of berries of your choice (optional, but highly recommended)
  • 2-3 tbs of strawberry/berry cream cheese (optional)
  • Cool whip/powdered sugar (optional)
  • Additional Tbs of sugar (optional)
  • syrup (also optional)

Okay, whisk your flour and milk together in a medium sized bowl. Then add your salt, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and eggs and whisk them up really well.

Soak your bread slices in the mixture until they are thoroughly saturated. Once you have a frying pan heated up with a tiny bit of margarine or oil (just enough so it doesn't stick to the pan), you can go ahead and place your toast. Be careful lifting the bread out of the mixture so that it doesn't fall apart. You may find it easier to place the slices on a plate and pour the mixture over top of it, then lift each one with a spatula. Cook on both sides, flipping right when it seems sturdy enough to not fall apart all over the place, until tasty golden brown.

If you're just going for plain French toast, you're done! Top with syrup and enjoy your tasty toast!

Now, we're going for sort of a "stuffed french toast" thing if you're springing for the optionals (extra surgar, berries, etc.). Once you have your bottom slice ready and cooked, spread on a layer of cream cheese. However much you want is fine. Then, divide up the berries, saving a little bit for the top. Place berries on top of the cream cheese and sprinkle your extra sugar over top. Sugar helps release the juice in the berries which could very well serve as your syrup. Go ahead and cook up your top pieces then place them on your french toast sandwich.

Top with cool whip, powdered sugar or syrup and your remaining berries. Enjoy!
